2024 CBYCC Season Hiring is Open!

The Clearwater Basin Youth Conservation Corps (CBYCC) is now accepting applications for open positions for the summer 2024 season. The CBYCC program is a paid youth program offering local youth an opportunity to experience the outdoors in a workplace setting while also providing a fun learning environment and exposure to traditional skills.

7th Annual Youth Conference A Success

The 7th annual Dream It Do It HERE Youth Conference, held May 16th on the University of Idaho Campus, drew 500 students and 54 counselors from 24 schools in north central Idaho and southeast Idaho.

CEDA Receives Two Idaho Grant Awards

The Clearwater Economic Development Association (CEDA) recently received funding awards to provide outreach, education, and strategic plan development in north central Idaho, which meets the agency’s goals to serve community and workforce development. This is a new and exciting opportunity for CEDA.

The Tribe’s Local Education Fund program awarded CEDA $10,000 to be used for the 2024 Dream it Do it Here Youth Conference.

Community Building. Deb Smith, Krista Baker, and I attended the Northwest Inland Partners meeting on August 9 in Spokane Valley. The speaker was Doug Griffiths, author of 13 Ways to Kill Your Community.

Economic & Community Development Assistant Hired

Ila Duff has just joined the CEDA team as Economic and Community Development Assistant.

Community Development Activity

Potlatch was awarded $175,000 Community Development Block Grant for a new restroom in Scenic Six Park. Hoodoo, the Water/Sewer District in Harvard, was awarded $85,000 between DEQ and the Idaho GEM Grant for a wastewater Planning Study to fix their outdated wastewater system.

Greetings! Springtime is the welcoming time as we enjoy longer days and the warmer season. Some big news for our region that had CEDA involvement is the award of $20 million by the Idaho Broadband Advisory Board to Idaho Regional Optical Network (IRON) and Intermountain Infrastructure Group (IIG) partnership to building open access middle mile broadband from Grangeville to Star.

Federal Contract Opportunities for Business Workshop

CEDA, in partnership with the Northwest Intermountain Manufacturing Association, with funding support from USDA Rural Development, will be hosting a “Building Your Business Revenue Through Federal Contracts” workshop.

CBYCC Accepting Applications for 2023 Summer Crew

The Clearwater Basin Youth Conservation Corps is accepting applications now for our 2023 summer crews for both student crew members and adult crew leads.

7th Annual Dream It Do It Youth Conference Is Around The Corner

The conference is an opportunity for 500 sophomores and juniors from north central Idaho and southeast Washington to experience a day of local industry and higher education breakouts exploring the future, local career options in regional industries.

Microloan Program Benchmark

Another benchmark for CEDA’s Rural Microentrepreneur Assistance Program (RMAP) was reached during the first quarter of 2023 with $1.6 million in loans being approved from the $400,000 lending pool, equating to four full revolutions of this revolving loan fund. The program started at CEDA in December of 2010 with the first RMAP loans being issued in the first quarter of 2011.

CEDA Awarded EDA Planning Grant
